THE MATRIX
What is The Matrix about? What is it really about? Do we live in The Matrix? Do we live in Socrates' Cave? How do you know?With all the discussions that we had in class about 'The Matrix' I realize that the first time that I watched Matrix ( in French which is weird!!),I just didn't catch the point of this movie at all!!Today it makes more sense.The Matrix makes me wonder if I really live in the reality, if I'm not prisoner of this Plato's cave?I do think that we live in 'the matrix', that we just know what the government and different medias want us to know. Neo wanted to discover the 'real world' that he finally found which appears to be very scary!I personally prefer to stay in "The Matrix" and to ignore the cruel reality of this world. If I have one life to live, I choose to stay in peace!

I would have chose the "blue pill" too. I wouldn't want to know that everything is fake and have to fight off killer machines. I choose peace too.
ReplyDeleteNeo didnt like the idea that he was not in control of his life, how comfortable are you knowing that you may not be in control of yours? Neo had a suspicion that he lived in something that wasn't real could you live with yourself knowing something isn't quite right? and in the case of Cypher(the bald traitor =]) by choosing to be reinserted in the matrix how did he know that the agent Smith would live up to his word. After all by accepting this matrix you now just become a pawn and are expendable when your no longer needed.

ReplyDeleteI agree, I dont think theyre is a going back, Smith was only using Cypher,I cant believe he honestly thought they would keep there end of the bargain, they know hes "Only human.." hell lead them to the destruction of Zion then he too will be expendable. Silly human.. Trix are for Machines..
As to Sabrina and Chris, well enjoy your time in this "Dream" prison, you have to make the hard choices even if they seem wrong, in order to be free. I dont blame you for wanting to say "peaceful" but I prefer to be free. If we do win this war, youll have to come face reality anyway soon, that is of course if the Matrix is not destroyed along with you all still plugged in :/. So enjoy your "dream" while it last im following this Rabbit all the way. Free your mind! *Swallows Red Pill*
I just wonder how do you know that the red pill is the way to the real world?? How do we know that the world that Neo finally discovered was real? Because Morpheus said it so? who can be sure about it? Maybe it's just another fake world but they are not aware about it yet... Just like in the Show Farscape, John Crichton thought it was in the real world but he realized that he wasn't. But when will he be sure that he finally find his real world? " The only thing I know is that I know nothing" Socrates. I probably push the idea too far, but I'm just thinking... I should stop !! lol
